You might be asking yourself where did Mike get his creative pattern from or what encouraged to make his Magic Square Reinvented quilts? Well many moons ago, Mike got involved when Sylvia Einstein (q.v.) showed him a block made by cutting a square in half twice - it had no name but had magical properties. He has been using it ever since. This version is a variation of the original Magic Square because you will be cutting up blocks made from strips. The block is called Steps to the White House (q.v., Encyclopedia of Pieces Quilt Patterns by Barbara Brackman). There will be some pre-cutting fabric homework to do before the class and a supply list will be e-mailed to you when you sign up. You will also be able to pick up the list at Quilty Pleasures. We look forward to having you join us in the workshop class at Quilty Pleasures in Simi Valley. It's our happy place!
