Everyone will start with a tiny square vase for practice and them make one additional shape:
Tall Square Vase (easy)
Ginger Jar (more difficult)
Curvy (most difficult)
The plastic templates used in class for each vase shape can be traced so you can make more vases on your own. The book, "Fast, Fun Easy Fabric Vases" by Linda Johansen (available on Amazon and other online sellers) is highly recommended.
Sewing machine capable of zig-zag stitch, fat quarters or scraps that are at least 12" by 18" for the inside and outside of the vase, 1/2 yard of Fast2Fuse heavyweight interfacing (available at QP), large scissors and snipping scissors, rotary cutter, thread in multiple colors, 5-10 yards of cord to match or contrast with fabric (QP has black satin cording) (PS: yarn is too soft and is not recommended), marking pen and sheet of template plastic (also available at QP).
